Here's what we were working with - a backyard that had real potential but was being swallowed up by overgrown, dried-out plant beds along the fence line and no real space to sit, gather, or enjoy being outside. The grass was fine, but everything around it felt unfinished. No structure. No flow. Just a yard that wasn't doing much for the homeowner.

We came in with a full outdoor design and build plan. First order of business was that new concrete patio - a clean, solid slab that gave the space a proper foundation to build around. Once that was in, we added the pergola right over it. That louvered-style pergola cover is a game changer for a place like New Orleans where the sun and heat can shut down outdoor time fast. Now this spot is usable even on a bright afternoon.

The plant beds along the fence were completely cleared out and rebuilt from the ground up. We put in four raised flower beds and laid a fresh garden line with mulch, new plants, and landscape lighting along the fence. It went from an eyesore to something the homeowner actually wants to look at. The new garden line runs clean along the fence and gives the whole back portion of the yard a finished, intentional look.

What ties all of it together is that it doesn't feel overdone. The patio has room for a full seating arrangement under the pergola. The raised beds near the house add greenery right at eye level. And the back fence garden pulls your eye across the yard instead of stopping it. Every piece of this had a purpose - more usable space, less mess, and a yard that finally matches the care the homeowner puts into everything else.

This is the kind of full-scope work we do regularly across the New Orleans area. Patio builds, pergola installs, raised beds, garden lines - we handle all of it as part of our outdoor design and build process so everything comes out looking like it was always meant to be there.
