Uptown New Orleans Backyard Goes From Overgrown to Outdoor Retreat

This backyard near St. Charles Avenue was a classic example of a space that had potential but no real plan. Overgrown shrubs crowding every corner, scattered gravel with no defined path, and zero usable space. The kind of yard you just walk past instead of spending time in.

Custom raised brick and mortar planting beds now run along the fence line, giving the space structure and a clean boundary between the planting areas and the open ground.
